Art I: Introduction
Artsonia Permission (10 pts.)
Students will need to get parent permission on Artsonia for their work to be public. Students will use Artsonia to submit pictures of their artwork via the app or online. For more information visit the Artsonia tab on this website. Thank you!
Week 1: Sketchbooks (50 pts.) & Folders (100 pts.)

Day 1: Quick review of rules. Then begin sketchbooks and folders.

Both of these are due by one full week after classes start. So, the Monday after if we start on Monday.
Project 1: Sketchbooks (50 pts)- We have an awesome machine that makes sketchbooks. Each student will receive one at the beginning of the year. Students can use any materials they wish to decorate their sketchbook however they choose. Thy should fill the whole cover and use the space to its' entirety. The rest is up to them. Students will be graded on effort and completion. They can take this home to work on it.
Project 2: Folders (100 pts)- Students will receive a large piece of heavyweight mixed media paper 24x36in, they can use any materials they choose, but their goal now is to describe themselves using their images. i.e. Their favorite sports, music, books, activities, interests, colors, patterns, designs, animals, food, movies, games, family, anything at all that represents them. They will be graded following the rubric below.
Folders: All Groups except Ceramics
/20 Effort Did you use the most of your amount of time in class, at home, or come in outside of class?
/20 Design Did you do your best to create a design and layout that represents you and your interests?
/20 Craftsmanship Did you use your time to make clean images? Or is there lots of scribbling, marks, and messy lines?
/20 Readiness Was your project finished and ready on the day it was due?
/20 Critique Did you participate respectfully in the critique and tell everyone how your folder represents you?
